A day in Brussels.

On a train.
Breakfast from the other morning. Guess who was quite pleased to eat chocolate on their bread.
Marleen went and picked these up fresh from the bakery today for our breakfast.

First ever metro ride for the boys. I  love that they are understanding how to read train and metro maps.

This is at Mini-Europe. A funny attraction featuring all major landmarks in the EU. In the background you see the Atomium built for the 1958 World Fair. It has a restaurant in top, similar to the space needle, also a changing art installation, display and viewing area in the different balls. It's an iron atom. It was on the top wish list to see for the kids.

Bunny huggins hat and Marsala Pop shirt go to Belgium!!

A Luikse waffle. Not to be confused with the light waffle (soda  water), 'heavy' waffles (with milk) or these ultra sweet. The other two are for a snack or dessert with fruit and whipped creme.  Eating a 'real' Belgium waffle was also was on the kid's list.

This is the Manneken Pis. The little peeing boy statue, a symbol of Belgium. He is really famous and it made me finally understand what all those think concrete little peeing boy fountains are based on. This, the real Manneken Pis, has at least 365 different outfits and today it so happens he is in a suit celebrating a Bolivian festival. Seeing this was also on the boy's list.

Did you know Smurfs are from Belgium? They are. The smurf movie (2) is out. In my mind it will be terrible. I thought it might be fun to take the kids to see it here. Or in Paris since the poster has the in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Super yummy dinner that Bart and Marleen made us.
